Hi ! My name is Tilly and I chose Edukid for my bronze Dofe volunteering. I chose Edukid because I felt inspired by other people’s impacts, and thought this would be a good way to complete my volunteering section, and make a real difference. I chose to raise money for sanitary products for girls in Uganda, because the message really spoke out to me as a young teenage girl. I raised money by doing a bake sale at my school with 9 of my friends, who all offered to help by making different sweet treats. Overall we raised nearly £100! I’m hoping this will be able to supply sanitary products for several girls who need them. During my Edukid journey, I faced challenges trying to find a place to complete my fundraiser. I overcame this by checking the Edukid website, as well as talking to staff at my school who were able to support me. I learnt how to organise and create a fundraiser on my Edukid journey, as well as the struggles for basic sanitary products in less privileged countries. If I were able to talk to the next person considering using Edukid as their Dofe volunteering, I would immensely recommend it to them, as i have learnt a lot in the past 3 months, and feel proud of my efforts and the funds i raised for others

Thank you so much for your amazing efforts to fundraise for Edukid. This will make a huge difference to the lives of girls living in Uganda and we thank you for choosing to volunteer for Edukid for the Duke of Edinburgh’s awards.
Thanks from the Edukid team.
