I chose to raise money for the Edukid mango tree planting scheme, because one of the most valuable advantages you can have in life is the freedom to independence, and the means to self sustenance. I chose to make money by felting and selling mini pangolin, and taking odd jobs such as deep cleans and weeding. My family and friends were super encouraging, and with their support I was able to raise over £100.
One of the best things about working with Edukid was getting to learn about the UNs’ sustainable development goals and how they might be accomplished for the future, and it was a great privilege to feel a part of that.
Overall, if you are considering completing your DofE award raising money for Edukid, and the impact of the course, will not only be a boost to your own confidence, responsibility, and project management skills, but others across the continent will feel the impact too. I can’t promise it will be easy, but I can guarantee it will be worth the effort.
