OUMA: Orphaned and living alone.

The only remaining relative Ouma has is his grandmother. She has some work 'digging in gardens'(farm labouring) but she has had to travel far from their village to find this.

There is nothing really left of Ouma's original village thanks to the civil war, which also killed his parents.

He also left the village looking for hope and knocked on the door of a school in Gulu after walking tens of miles. Thanks to edukid they were able to accept him.

Ouma has become a star pupil and his studies mean everything to him. He has to live alone, far from his grandmother as she cannot find work near the school.   More about Ouma
