What Edukid Does in Cambodia

Where does your money goes?

Edukid allocates you a child/student when they receive your donation or direct debit form. We then send an acknowledgment of your donation as well as a photograph of your child.

Edukid transfers your money to our partner organisation Care For Cambodia (CFC).

CFC monitors all the children on our list, and looks for new ones to add. They buy and assemble a school pack for each child that includes: a school uniform, books, and equipment. CFC distribute these packs at the start of their school year to the children. A full list of money spent and a report is then sent to Edukid. There is also a written contract between Edukid and CFC specifying how all money is spent and monitored. CFC make no administration charges to Edukid.

All one-off donations are held by Edukid until a stage is reached when we have enough support and money to commit to a child's whole schooling.

Money donated for students in university is administered immediately, should the donation be the whole £800 per year and committed for the whole five years. If the donation is a quarter or half donation, this money will be held by Edukid until there is enough to support a student for a whole year. This money is transferred to CFC. CFC then distribute this money according to the guidelines set out by Edukid. The annual £800 per student per year is spent on: accommodation, utilities, food, clothing, books, and any medical or unforeseen expenses. Accounts are kept and a report written by CFC to Edukid. A condition of this programme is regular supervision between CFC and the student. CFC act on behalf of Edukid according to the guidelines laid out. CFC make no administration charges to Edukid.

Any Gift Aid and unspecified donations and fund raising goes towards the operational costs of Edukid. We make every effort to keep our overheads low. Currently everyone connected with Edukid receives no income from the charity. Edukid gratefully acknowledges the role our partner organisations play in this.
