Cambodia: Srey Da

Srey Da was brought up in two of the biggest slums in Cambodia. At the age of 14 yrs she and the rest of the inhabitants were moved to a new village miles from the city. Each person had a small plot of land, and some corrugated iron.

At her new village she saw many children working the streets, too poor to attend school. She gathered them up, cared for them and started teaching them what she knew.

At the age of 17 yrs edukid learnt of her work and offered support. Srey Da now runs the whole of the edukid schools programme in Cambodia, helping over 1,400 children.
