SINETH: A boy from the slums.Sineth grew up in a large Cambodian city. His home was Tonle Bassac Squatter village in Phnom Penh. A ramshackled slum built over a swamp of sewage water.
Sineth is a bright young man with an amazing future and is studying to be a Doctor thanks to
edukid sponsorship.
His living expenses, books and university fees will be paid for him until he graduates: all costs that his family would never have been able to bare.
This absolute transformation of both his current life and future prospects has cost the equivalent of a packet of biscuits a week!

BHUNTA: Girl from a poor rural family.Bhunta is 15 years old and lives with her 2 brothers, sister, mother, father and grandma in Kporp Krowm.
Bhunta's mother and father grow rice, but just for the family to eat, there isn't enough left over to sell. Her dad works as a hired labourer and her mum hand sews sequins onto clothes to bring in some money for the family.
edukid gave Bhunta a bag, lots of books, some pens and pencils, a pencil sharpener, shoes, a uniform and a ruler. She said she was very, very happy as she had never received anything like it before. "It really made me want to study more" she said!
Bhunta gets up around 4 or 5 in the morning to help around the house, cooking rice and sweeping the floor. School starts at 7am until lunch time after which she goes to Ming Rua (Aunty Ruth)'s house for extra lessons.
