Jill and Jonny Hammil train staff and help launch the initiative. They spent the last year raising money to buy ten laptops, each installed with literacy, maths and music learning programmes.  They’ll be used to reach out to children in the remotest, most disadvantaged areas of Cambodia.

In Asia our work focuses on Cambodia.

During the reign of Pol Pot over 2 million people died, including 90% of all teachers.

Nearly half the poulation are under 15 years old, with 40% of female children out of primary education.

Child prostitution and domestic violence is some of the highest in the world.

edukid help children have a primary and secondary education as well as offering scholarships at university.  A child can come from the most disadvantaged background and become a qualified surgeon or teacher (etc).

We help more girls than boys to address the cultural inbalance.
Srey Da was brought up in a huge city slum and left school at age 14. She started teaching local children all the knowledge that she held. Each morning between 20 and 40 children, too poor to recieve education any other way would learn from her.

edukid now supports all of these children and Srey Da co-ordinates most of our work in Cambodia.
